SUMMARY
As a distinguished designer, winning the menswear award at the pretigious Festival International de Mode et de Photographie à Hyères (Hyères Festival) in 2003, the Viennese designer has developed tremendously over the last few seasons. One of few female designers creating menswear, her collection is stemmed through extensive research, fabric and manufacturing experiments as well as sharp graphic prints with a critical outcome of wearability and how a concept is embedded through each new season. She unconventionally interprets her work creatively artistic as an individual art project rather than one of a fashion concept. Her close interaction with the Spring/Summer 2009 collection sees her beautify button collared poplin shirting, meticulously crafted trousers and shorts and narrowly tailored double-breasted jackets. Her aesthetic is both traditional and contemporary and has honed her vision and skills from the mentorship of Belgian designer Raf Simons whilst studying at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.
