SUMMARY
Rittenhouse is the Sydney-based menswear and womenswear label designed by duo Sally McDonald and Micah Hamdorf. Away from the media spotlight and main fashion scene, their coveted label is firmly grounded in the life experiences both designers have had of which have seen them travel to London and New York and finally Philadelphia where Rittenhouse was first established, named after the Rittehouse Square found in the same city. Graphically beautiful, intelligently clever, both designers enhances their artistic skills by their eye on changing gingham polka dot shirts, t-shirts, waist pants and dresses that regularly have hidden details such as eye lids, blotched pocket shapes, asymmetric pocketing, authentic sea-shell buttoning and superfine jersey cotton and silk fabrics. Their upcoming Spring/Summer 2009 collection sees sand dyed men’s shirting, paperbag waist skirts and finely tuned graphic t-shirts incredibly finished. The label is widely known to be somewhere in between high-end and casual and this is how it is meant to be perceived, free from any label.
