SUMMARY
British born Australian raised fashion designer Richard Nicoll has arose tremendously over the past recent seasons since finishing his MA in Fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London in 2002. Dolce & Gabbana who purchased his entire graduation show would be a graceful omen to what he has already achieved in his young career in the fashion industry. Nicoll gives the impression of his women’s garments as one of great self-confidence, sexiness in the tailoring but never vulgarity. His deep attention (what he calls himself rather as an art-director) is focused on the shapes, silhouettes and tailoring, transcribing languid and diaphanous fabrics. Honing his skills in menswear, a fascination for movement and corsetry, the Richard Nicoll woman is witty, sly, profoundly intelligent yet ultimately having a display of demure and chic.
