The most peculiar aspect to Lina Scheynius’ oeuvre as a film photographer is the way in which she was immediately thrusted into editorial magazines. A former Swedish model, and on the cusp of shooting her closest friends with her old Canon 35mm camera, led to a compounded rise with commissions from Dazed and Confused, Le Double, Numero Korea and AnOther Magazine. I’m struck by the close intimate renditions of her photographs making me feel their collapsing on my mental brain.
