SUMMARY
Australian visual artists Fiona Lau and Kain Picken studied fashion design and fine arts respectively before launching their own branded universe called ‘ffiXXED’. Seasonal clothing is not what their inherently produce but serves as a creative function to communicate an understanding a garment can be designed so as to work harmoniously within a designed living environment. More of a design practice than fashion studio, their current base in Northern China keeps them mobile and steadfast for producing exhibitions and secondary projects which have included a collaboration with BLESS Berlin. They continue to toil with conceptual ideas yet with a very pragmatic output.
