SUMMARY

Australian designer Stephanie Downey has a constant focus on the creative and often untamed process of wearability and the action which causes us to produce a variegated ensemble. Her clothes inherently express a heightened sense of a second animated skin whereby glamour, vanity, and indeed personal expression is left unbridled within an insightful and witty sense. Using finer fabrics that are tactile and ever present, interpretations of what women can wear converges between the sophisticated woman, classic and in her own words, “An ode to being ladylike”.
