As Sydney’s rat race of office workers scurry along to their daily work, in the corner of your eye you might catch a glimpse just for a fleeting moment a demure woman who matches her ravishing beauty often pictured in English novelist Jane Austen’s stories for her perpetual enthusiasm for the arts, the design and creative process.

Bianca Spender established her eponymous brand more than fours years ago after having studied a degree in Commerce at the University of Sydney. Buoyed by an ardent and creative desire and bounded by her mother’s venerable fashion business (Carla Zamapatti), she took herself to learn the fashion industry in both Paris and Milan for which included three years at Martine Sitbon. Unlike many other Australian designers that have come and gone, Bianca has produced meticulous women’s prêt-à-porter armed with the skills of a patternmaker, dressmaker and the cutting of a finessed couturier. On the day of visit at the Carla Zampatti’s fortress, her natural glow with the elegance of her classic swept back ballerina bun, Bianca stays true to her beliefs of both making and wearing clothes that remain timeless.
