Photography by Andrea Spotorno

Le Monde d’Hérmes

Andrea’s simple yet very well executed website which brings attention to the breath of her work. She has yet to show information about her but as her name suggests, she is an Italian photographer now living and working in Paris.

There is a certain feeling that conceives itself when you see fashion photography in its own entirety of originality. Bombarded everyday by constant visual threats of images, something strikes out as beautifully born and produced. Whilst Andrea leaves us questioning her background and her reasons for photographing this way, it leaves us looking at strong and characterised protagonists foreshadowing everyday spatial environments with natural and night lighting. Many of her images capture nanomillimetres of our daily lives where we looked to be surprised, in a hurry for an appointment or looking fresh and confused.

Having an Italian background and having that certaon strong heritage builds a foundation of wealth and a closeness with family and friends. Having now transformed in a well-developed image-maker, Paris has become a completely new environment for her both internal and external. Whilst she may have lived in this wonderful city of a number of years, her images consistently capture a motif of independence and an air of “life on Mars”. That is, her residence in this new city transformed her ability to conceive new images by reflecting on a much more spontaneous array of cultural views. Her work has been produced for several editorial publications, she continues that state of reaching young adulthood whereby seeing the world and embarking a personal journey either by yourself or with friends is creating your new present. Moreover, she further captures delicacy and elegance in her work. The recent TVC of discovering New Zealand highlights the youth of New Zealand and again, Paris as known for a location of culture and love, enjoys a timeslessness of youth and forever wanting more.

Andrea has captured for Ouomo Vogue, Art Review, Self Service and Acne Jeans.
