There are many titles that offer detailed insight in our contemporary culture within the context of Design. However, what we may be actually looking for is succinct and direct interviews and discussions by those who don’t endeavor to converse in a pretentious and superfluous way but try and give a honest point of view.
It’s difficult in its own nature to write about something so large and long-winded that countless essays could be written upon the subject of Graphic Design. Conceived as a thesis project, Ewan Robertson (website) and Jennie Hancock (website) have relayed their own experiences as students and asked what else is out there that can be explored and how has good design expressed individuals to hold personal direction in their work whilst discovering a preference for self-initiated projects.
Written interviews are published in a book including contributions by Adrian Shaughnessy, Daniel Eatock, Simon Rhodes, Ben Holroyd and others.
