Richard Nicoll

Richard Nicoll has clearly shown his extraordinary aptitude for designing womenswear with flair and total conviction. Having graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2002 with a MA in Womenswear, over the past three years he has continued to be praised by buyers and the fashion media for his sense of dress with an elegant prowless. Initially studying menswear, his gradual development in womenswear has honed a sharp masculine tailoring in shirting and within the shoulder line, with a resonating dress shilouette that show constant elements of subtle yet fine couture detailing. His attributes as a designer ultilising already such fabrics of silk / organza and men’s shirting have provided an outline which Richard communicates as, “Women who want to dress self-empoweringly.” He has previously worked alongside Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton; an ANDAM (Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode) award recipient in 2007 and a nominated finalist in the 2008 Swiss Textiles Awards.
