Ann-Sofie Back

When you are acquainted with Swedish fashion designer Ann-Sofie Back, you begin to notice her interests in Fashion lies not within the typical nature or urges of an individual wanting to work within Fashion. Her quiet and boring upbringing in Stenhamra in Stockholm has given her the desires of investigating attributes, social glamour and extravagance for which society craves. She enlightens and highlights through her collection pieces, notably in dresses that are drapely cut with frills and being off-centered as the conceptual approach to hints of her observant thinking. Ann has embarked on a successful and established direction as a London based fashion designer with her main namesake collection and in addition, her BACK line acting as both a supportive and diffusion collection. Her clothes exposes the problems within fashion we always try to conceal. She has studied at Beckmans College of Design in Sweden with a BA in Fashion Design and following a MA in Womenswear at Central Saint Martins in 1998. She was also nominated in the 2007 Swiss Textiles Award.
